The extension
- Blocking happens on your device. The extension doesn't send us the pages you visit or your browsing history.
- Your free trial and settings are stored on your device.
- If you buy Premium, we receive your email address and subscription status from our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe handles your card details; we never see them.
This website
When the page loads, and when you click an "Add to Chrome" button, your browser sends us a small record. It contains a random ID stored in your browser, the version of the page you saw, and any campaign tags from the link you used, such as utm_source. We use these records to count visits and clicks. They don't include your name or email address, and this site does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may place strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from bot abuse.
If you enter your email address on the welcome page to extend your trial, we store it and use it to send you TraceBlocker news and offers. You can unsubscribe from any email.
If you answer the short survey that opens when you uninstall the extension, we store your answer and any comment you write. Survey answers aren't linked to your name, email address or the random ID. If you accidentally include personal information in the comment box against our instructions, we will delete that specific information upon discovery.
We don't store your IP address in our database. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and similar technical data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
What we don't do
- We don't run ads, and this site has no advertising or analytics trackers from other companies.
- We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
- We don't upload your email address to ad platforms like Meta or Google, for example to target ads.
How we use it
- To provide Premium and manage your subscription, including receipts and renewal reminders.
- To send TraceBlocker news and offers to people who gave us their email address on the welcome page. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To see which version of this website works better.
- To keep our services running and prevent abuse.
- TraceBlocker's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare hosts this website and its database. Stripe processes payments. The collection and processing of your payment information is governed strictly by Stripe's privacy policy. [Name your email provider here once you choose one.] These providers process data only to run our services.
How long we keep it
